Mt. Airy Baseball has provided quality programs to boys and girls living in the Mt. Airy and Germantown neighborhoods of Philadelphia for more than 20 years. In addition to a summer league, the organization provides indoor winter clinics to all interested children. The organization renovated an abandoned baseball field at Pleasant Playground to expand its capacity to serve additional children. A Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant was provided to fund the renovation of the infield, pitcher’s mound and fencing in 2007. The project was complete in July 2007. Since then, the league has expanded to over 100 kids in the past two years. Nearly 620 participants play in the 45 teams.

“This expansion would not have been possible without the addition of the Pleasant field funded by the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, said League Commissioner, Dan Winterstein. “We expect more kids next year”.

Even more exciting news! Earlier this year, Mr. Jesse Biddle, former Mt. Airy player, was a first-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies. Check out the 6ABC clip featuring the Mt. Airy Baseball send-off here. For more information, check out site.
