BTF Grant Recipient Update: New York Gothams Youth Baseball-

Gothams.jpgThe NY Gothams had a successful summer! A total of five teams traveled to tournaments and participated in local leagues. The hot and humid weather didn’t wear these players down; a minimum of 35 games were played from June-August!

Congrats to two NY Gothams star players- Nelson Rodriguez and Fernelys Sanchez! Both young men played in the famed 2010 Summer Rivalry Classic in Yankee Stadium and ESPN’s Area Code baseball games in Long Beach, Californian, during the month of August.

Founded in 2000, New York Gothams Youth Baseball, Inc. is a competitive, travel program with the goal of providing talented, motivated players in New York City the opportunity to develop their skills and participate in competitive, national tournaments and showcases. In 2009, a Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant provided funding for the uniforms, tournament fees and travel expenses for eight additional scholarship players.
